Certified Tutor

Leonardo Martinez is a Law Clerk at the District of Columbia Superior Court. In this role, he does legal research and writing such as drafting court decisions.

Prior to Clerking, Leo was an Assistant District Attorney at the Bronx District Attorney's Office where he handled hundreds of criminal prosecutions from beginning to end including attempted murder cases.

A graduate of George Washington Law School, Leo was part of the Criminal Appeals Clinic where he drafted and argued an appeal before the Maryland Court of Special Appeals. Additionally, he clerked for the District of Columbia United States Attorney's Office Cyber Crime Section where he worked on issues involving electronic, computer, and internet-related evidence and legal processes; and worked closely with the Department of Justice's Office of International Affairs ("OIA") on an initiative to expedite the processing of Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty ("MLAT") requests from foreign countries that seek electronic evidence in the United States in support of foreign criminal investigations and proceedings.

Leo is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia and the State of New York. Leo was born in Honduras and Spanish is his first language. He is also a tutor for the bar exam.
