I have been a teacher for eight years and am passionate about teaching all kinds of students. I have had students of all ages, backgrounds, and levels from children in classroom settings to adult learners in 1:1 and group settings. I believe that education is a right of all individuals and knowledge is invaluable. Therefore, helping students find their most effective learning styles which they can apply to all their academic endeavours is important to me. I have taught in the United States, Italy, and the United Kingdom in private and public schools as well as with various types of companies in business environments. This diverse experience has made me very adaptive as a teacher and enthusiastic about teaching a mixture of subjects.
My academic background primarily includes psychology, history, philosophy, ethics, and Italian. I received my bachelor's degree in history from John Cabot University in Rome, Italy and my master's degree in philosophy from King's College London in London, England. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in philosophy.
For years, I primarily taught English (as a foreign language, literature, and advanced grammar) and composition. However, I have also taught classes in psychology, history, culture, and philosophy. Additionally, I have tutored Italian, public speaking, test taking strategies, and more. I am excited to share my educational background with students in all fields.
My approach to teaching is an empathetic and patient one in which I strive to find the student's individual method of understanding and retaining what they are studying. There is no universally successful study technique, so part of the challenge that instructors and students share is determining what works best for the student.
