I have been an educator for the past 8 years. I spent 5 years teaching kindergarten before and through the pandemic. An opportunity to continue teaching virtually in my area was made available as a new virtual school opened. With great consideration, I made the decision to leave the only school I had ever taught at and pursue a career as a virtual teacher. This upcoming school year will be the 3rd year that I have been teaching virtually. I taught both 1st and 3rd grade virtually and will be returning to 1st grade for the 2023-2024 school year. My new role has been amazing! While there are certain aspects of in-person teaching that I miss, I absolutely love being able to reach students virtually and provide support to students that need a virtual setting to participate.

While it is important to me to be a lifelong learner, it is also my personal goal to make a difference in the lives of all of the students I teach, even if just a small difference. From my classroom to the 51�Թ��� platform, helping students as they navigate their educational journey is of the highest priority to me. Learning should be meaningful, creative, practiced and effective. One of my favorite quotes comes from Michelangelo, "ancora imparo". This is loosely translated as "I am still learning" and was said by Michelangelo at the age of 87, around the year of 1564 while he was painting St. Peter's Basilica. This quote and Michelangelo's age when he spoke the words, set as a reminder to me that we are never too young or old to learn and that learning can happen at any time.
