Certified Tutor
I LOVE teaching and have over 15 years experience in classrooms, homeschooling, and in various tutoring settings with children from ages 3-17. My aim in my teaching and tutoring sessions is to instill a love of literacy and to grow students into life-long learners. While working with my students, I aim to make sessions an engaging, positive and effective experience. On our first meeting, I try to build a rapport with my students by learning about their individual interests, learning styles, strengths and areas in need of improvement. Using these pieces of information about each student, I create an individualized plan for their success that will support them not only in their academic growth but in their overall development as a thriving individual. Learning can be and is fun for even the most reluctant learners or readers as long as their lessons are differentiated and instruction is based on effective strategies following a plan of action that builds confidence and supports a student's goals and reaching his or her highest potential.

I love music and the outdoors. I like to walk and hike with my two dogs Chief and Abigail. I enjoy surfing and swimming as well!
