I'm a current junior at the University of Maine working towards my Master's in Computer Science. I have a constant want to expand my knowledge in all fields related to computer science and I do my best to help students who want to expand their understanding of computer science as well. Through my own academic journey, I understand every student is unique and given the difficulty or abstractness of some concepts in computer science, I am quick to adapt the learning material to however the student learns best. Whether it be through chunking lessons into sub-lessons or using household objects to teach about a programming concept, I teach however the students learns easiest and most efficiently. I find this not only increases the productivity of lessons but can improve focus as well as retention in previous concepts to allow students to more quickly build upon the knowledge they already have. Finally, I understand learning computer science can be dry at times, through my own journey in computer science I deeply understand this. I do my absolute best to make sure that while lessons are efficient with the student always coming out knowing whatever it is they needed to know or understand at a deeper level; I also strive to teach with a high level of enthusiasm and connect the learning material to however they are best motivated to help them not only learn more easily but appreciate the material a bit more so they can continue learning with more motivation than would have had otherwise.
