Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Carleton College in Northfield Minnesota, and received my Bachelor's degree in History with minors in Educational Studies and Public Policy. I have eight years of experience volunteering and working with children and students from ages three to fifteen. These experiences range from teaching swimming lessons, volunteering in preschool and elementary school classrooms, working as a summer camp counselor, a volunteer tutor with middle school students, and teaching a historical research course to eighth graders for two academic school years.

While I tutor in a variety of areas, I especially love tutoring in writing skills, as I enjoy helping students develop their individual voice and find their strengths in writing. I believe that education is necessary for all children, as it helps inspire a lifetime of learning. I believe everyone can be successful in school, and love helping students discover their individual learning styles and help them develop successful study methods that work well for them. While I am not tutoring, I enjoy swimming, spending time outdoors hiking or skiing, knitting, baking, and reading. I especially love reading historical fiction!
