Certified Tutor
I have been a licensed, board certified occupational therapist for over 30 years; 5 years as an OTA and 34 years as an OTR. I graduated on the Dean's List for my A.S. degree and Magna Cum Laude with Departmental Honors for my B.S. degree. At the time, I did not realize how fortunate I was to have a co-editor of Pedretti's Occupational Therapy: Practice Skills for Physical Dysfunction as a fieldwork educator, and the author of the National Occupational Therapy Certification Exam Review and Study Guide as a main instructor. I am a generalist, with experience in school settings, rehab and subacute care, SNF settings, inpatient and outpatient care, and home healthcare. I have had years of background in neurological diseases and disorders, cardiopulmonary conditions, orthopedics, and general debilitation. My background also includes Director of Rehabilitation, fieldwork educator, Academic Fieldwork Coordinator, lecture and clinical lab instructor, and acting Program Director at an OTA college.
My ability to inspire, motivate, and build confidence in staff and students is borne of compassion and appreciation of the multitude of outstanding professionals I have had the privilege of working with. I believe that utilizing real-life patient examples are essential in learning. I love to teach and see others succeed and would enjoy the opportunity to help you achieve your goals in preparing for the NBCOT exam and becoming a licensed practitioner.
