My name is Julie Panetta, and I am a Dental Anatomy and Clinical Dental Hygiene instructor at Middlesex County College in Edison, NJ. I am also an alumnus of the Middlesex County College Dental Hygiene program (2004) and the University of Bridgeport Bachelors and Masters Online Dental Hygiene programs (2013, 2015).
Within my 5 years as an adjunct professor and 15 years as a clinical dental hygienist, I am a motivational promoter of continuous learning to all my students. Within my teaching style, I always incorporate my personal
working experience in dental hygiene within my teaching methodology to promote the importance of lifelong learning and the development of effective critical thinking skills. I also have experience preparing curriculum and collecting content for didactic courses.
Having experience of online learning tools, my students have a well-balanced learning environment that adapts to their individual learning styles and educational needs.
As an alumnus of the University of Bridgeport Dental Hygiene B.S. and M.S. online programs, I fully
understand the importance of implementing individual, student-centered strategies, student-led discussions and evidence-based learning within a successful online course.
My experience as an online student has greatly impacted on my role as a successful educator.
I continue to encourage my students in furthering their education showing the importance of their role within the advancement of the dental hygiene profession and all other aspects of their career.
