I got into tutoring because it is a way for me to make some extra money from the comfort of my own home. I have a toddler, so I am able to spend time with her, while still fulfilling my calling of teaching others. I currently work in an elementary school, going on my sixth year of teaching. I enjoy working with students and ensuring that they fully grasp a concept before moving on. If students are struggling to understand, I really try to help them understand in another way. Not everyone learns the same, so why should teaching all be the same?

One of my favorite quotes is "Giving the gift of knowledge is giving the one gift that will never need to be returned." It truly shows that teachers don't need anything in return for their time. Helping to teach someone isn't something that needs a thank you, although it is always appreciated also!
