I enjoy teaching math because I think about it daily and work on puzzles with my weekly. I have a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics, and a few years of professional tutoring experience, in addition to helping friends. I tutor all areas of math, but can help with science and English too. Geometry and algebra through calculus are my favorite subjects since I use them so much myself, though actually those use all levels below. My philosophy is to find out whether the student wants a topic explain or wants to know how to approach tough topics in the future, and then provide accordingly. I give frequent example problems to keep the student engaged, rather than waiting for the student to state when he or she is lost. When I'm not tutoring, I'm designing, building, or looking through telescopes.
