Certified Tutor

Hi, I'm Monica. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Marketing and a master's degree in Elementary Education. Teaching is my passion. My belief is that anyone can learn with the right attitude and practice. I have 13 years of classroom teaching experience as well as reading intervention experience. In addition, I have tutored college-level English and Math students.
In my lessons, I like to introduce the subject in a fun and relatable way. Of course, I will be adjusting to my student's likes, individual needs, and learning styles. I will be using guided practice in my lessons to help my students with their understanding, then individual practice until the student has mastered the lesson. In addition, I am always available for extra help or questions.
One of the honors I have received in my career is being nominated by my peers for teacher of the year. This was a great honor and I am very thankful, but it doesn't compare to the feeling I get when I help a student succeed. This is why I work tirelessly to help students achieve their goals. I also welcome parents and students to have input in the student's education. I would love to work with you or your student and help you achieve your academic goals.
