Hi, my name is Josh and I'm signed up with varsity tutors as an MCAT tutor. My previous test prep experience includes 4 years of prep involving the New York City Specialized High School entrance exam and the SAT. I've taken my MCAT 2 times, the old pre 2016 format and the new post 2016 format, and on both occasions I have scored in the 98th to 99th percentile.

I don't start my own MCAT prep with such stellar scores. My self diagnostic MCAT scores tend to fall at or below the 50th percentile. I cannot and will not teach a 'fast' method to significantly improve MCAT scores. I simply do not know one! What I can teach however, is a rigorous system of meta analysis and self reflection that will help you achieve your short and long term MCAT goals.

The MCAT is widely considered the hardest graduate level exam in existence. The scope of the exam is extraordinary and easily encompasses 4 years of college biochemistry degree courses. To me however, earning a high MCAT score is similar to a feedback loop. Test takers can set week by week goals focusing on high yield topics of the exam and help themselves achieve scores they will find extraordinary.

With my prep, I hope to teach test takers to both identify and understand high/medium/low yield MCAT topics applying principles I used for my own exam preparation.
