Certified Tutor

I have been in education for almost twenty years teaching and tutoring. I currently teach Creative and Structured writing classes to middle school and high school students at various churches within the metro Detroit area. I teach: "mastering grammar (the tenses)" as well as "going beyond the five-paragraph essay (college prep)." My other specialty is teaching English as a Second Language. I work with adults who need help with grammar, writing, reading (reading comprehension), vocabulary, pronunciation, and idioms/expressions. They work in the U.S. on business assignments at automotive corporations. I often tutor spouses and children. I have worked with students of all backgrounds and cultures. I have worked with all ages (K-12) in various subjects like math and study skills. I have home schooled and tutored the sciences, social studies, biology, for example, and various other subjects. I help the student overcome obstacles. I am patient, kind, and good at helping children resolve academic conflicts.
