I am an advocate of lifelong learning, practical skill building and educational experiences which build knowledge as well as character. I will challenge and sharpen your critical and analytical skills, refine your ability to communicate effectively and with confidence, develop practical studying skills, and build writing skills for long-term use in test taking, college course work, professional settings, and even your next international adventure! I hope to motivate you to meet your goals and needs, help you learn how to review your own progress, and challenge the notion that growing your mind - to meet any goal - need be painful.
A native of northwestern Ohio, my own personal, academic and professional background is as diverse and global as the subjects I tutor in. Ask me about my time working in China, and studying and living in Latin American and Europe in addition to my time in Washington, DC! I know firsthand what can happen when we combine structured learning and goals with spontaneity and real-world situations we build knowledge.
My time within an international higher education environment also means practical feedback on tests, applications, and where to look for funding at any stage and level of your education or career. My own time as an exchange student in high-school, as an undergraduate and in graduate school means real feedback on the process, and how study abroad can develop skills that employers want: problem solving, cultural awareness and adaptability just to name a few.
