Certified Tutor

In 2014, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English and Spanish with a focus in writing and editing. A dedicated educator and professional, I have an extensive background in English, linguistics, and second language studies. I have tutored in a variety of contexts, working with undergraduate and graduate students at my University???s Writing Center; high school students through my local Boys and Girls Club; and private clients in Richmond, Virginia. In 2010, I had the opportunity to spend six months in Central America, where I gained fluency in Spanish and became familiar with Latin American history and culture. I am an expert writer and communicator in both English and Spanish, and my thorough knowledge of linguistics (phonetics and syntax) makes me especially qualified to help second language learners. While I am an effective and capable tutor for a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, Spanish, and ESL, for I believe that strong communication skills are the foundation for success.
Cultivating a positive relationship with my clients is important to me, and I am proud to say that I have received an abundance of positive feedback from long-term clients throughout my career. I feel incredibly honored to take part in helping others achieve their academic and professional goals, which is why I have made tutoring such a huge part of my life. I pride myself on my ability to help struggling students become lifelong, self-sufficient learners both inside and outside of the classroom.
Currently I am planning on earning my Juris Doctor, and I am pleased to report that I have been accepted to several of the nation's top law schools. I will be matriculating as a law student for the fall 2017 semester.
