Certified Tutor
I have been tutoring various topics in math for around three years in a professional capacity. The ages of students I have tutored range from 8th grade up through remedial college which encompasses adults of all ages, and I've taught a few homeschoolers in the mix.
I currently go to the University of Tennessee, and I am working on my bachelor's degree. My major is math and my minor is education.
At Pellissippi State, I tutored from remedial math up through business calculus 1 and elementary statistics.
I look forward to helping you meet your math goals!

What is your teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy is to keep it simple without insulting my student's intelligence.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
When a student is struggling, I like to try to come up with a few different ways of explaining a concept in hopes that one of the ways may stick.
What techniques would you use to be sure that a student understands the material?
I like to take the current question a student is working on and mix it up a little bit. For example, if given an equation, I like to change the numbers and explain how to do it. That way, they have a chance to do the original problem for themselves.
How do you build a student's confidence in a subject?
Practice! After a few problems, many students see that they can do it and get excited about their learning accomplishment.
