I am passionate about teaching and building relationships with students.
For the past two and a half years, I have taught in a number of different educational settings. During this time, I have instructed a wide and diverse variety of students from elementary students to adults. In the class room I work hard to integrate the knowledge and skills students will need to be successful in college and the global community. I have been successful in creating an engaging classroom that provided students with important life skills such as: a love of learning, personal responsibility, self-motivation, concern for others, and a commitment to serve society. I particular focused on practical skills of reading, creativity, critical thinking and communication skills. Additionally, to help my students to be successful I have often taken the time to work one on one with students. I have even crafted individualized curriculum to help students pass the HSK exam.
As a continued growth and development educator, I am aware of the importance of developing oneself. I passed the Putonghua Proficiency Test Level 2- A during university, The Putonghua Proficiency Test or Putonghua Shuiping Ceshi (PSC) is an official test of spoken fluency in Standard Chinese intended for native Mandarin speakers. (The test was developed in 1994 by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, the Institute of Applied Linguistics at Beijing Language and Culture University and the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television.) What's more, I studied Chinese calligraphy for two years, perfecting my simplified and traditional characters.
