What is your teaching philosophy?
My goal is to help students develop a learning technique that is modified to their specific needs. In doing so, helping students reach their highest potential drives the passion behind what I do! Hard work, determination, and confidence combined can create a successful outcome.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
It is important to get to know the student. Understanding the personality traits of students helps me to develop lessons and techniques that are relevant to their specific liking. In a first session, I like to set goals and help establish a reasonable pathway towards reaching that goal.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Confidence is the leading trait in becoming an independent anything! Helping students realize that it's the ending result, not necessarily the road traveled, that is most important is vital to developing that confidence. With trial and error, each student develops a work ethic that pushes through the difficult times. These strategies will help students be able to carry out those difficult tasks ahead of them because they were able to once push through and gain previous confidence.
