Certified Tutor

I graduated from Notre Dame College in August 2015 with a Master???s Degree in Education (M.Ed.). I am currently studying to pass the state licensure exam to be certified as a Mild/Moderate Intervention Specialist k-12. My experience includes private, group, and individualized tutoring. My preference is one on one tutoring because tutoring and mentoring go hand in hand. The goal is to make the subject material fun and, if possible, make it a game. This will build self- esteem and boost self-confidence. One must find and teach to the student???s learning style and find different way to differentiate the subject (s) being taught. Always wrap up on a positive note and make sure you challenged the student for the next level.

I was diagnosed with a learning disability in elementary school. English Language Arts was the biggest area of struggle for me, with some minor difficulty in math. I have learned to coexist with and overcome my disability. Because of my own struggles with learning, I know I can help students overcome their own academic downfalls.
