Certified Tutor
I graduated from Barnard College with a Bachelor of Arts. I have worked with students, from schools such as Mott Hall II, P.S. 75, and Girls Prep Charter School, to help them approach standardized tests with calm and ease. I believe that test taking does not have to be scary, especially if approached with the right tools and mindset. I am known for being patient and friendly, with a genuine desire to help students improve their scores. I tutor the SAT, ACT, and SSAT, and my specialties are reading, writing, and English. In my spare time, I like to explore the city, play music, write screenplays, exercise, and spend time with friends and family.

What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe that teaching is best approached with a sense of curiosity, fun, and teamwork. I love to help students feel better motivated and more confident in themselves. Achieving one's goals and mastering difficult concepts is a great feeling!
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
In a typical first session, I would get to know a student and see what their learning strengths and weaknesses have been so far. From there, I would help them put together a unique lesson plan and start working towards achieving their goals.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
You can help a student become an independent learning by working with them to break down concepts that scare them. Once they have a confident grasp of how to solve a problem, they are able to strike out and approach those questions on their own.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
I would help a student stay motivated by working with them to overcome challenges. I would provide the support they need to stay focused and improve their test scores. I would encourage them to move past fear and learn to break down difficult problems with ease.
