Certified Tutor

I am a recent graduate of Wittenberg University with Bachelor degrees in French and History. I have studied French for 13.5 years, including a year and a half in France; first for a year while I was in high school and for a semester in college. As a high school student I stayed with a host family outside of Paris, where I was able to converse in French on a daily basis. While on my college semester abroad in France, I was certified to a B2 level that means that I am able to teach in France. I also interned with a MIT history professor and researched gothic cathedrals over the last three summers and did field work for her while in France, going to a number of cathedrals to learn about their origins, costs and interviewed church people.

I look forward to tutoring you. I enjoy both French and history very much. I have a passion for the language of French and a huge interest in history. I like learning about people long gone and what their world was like during their time. I love French and all things to do with the French culture. I have had some informal tutoring experience. I have tutored an adult student in English when I was in France. He wanted someone with whom to practice the language. He also wanted to learn more English for his buisness. I also tutored a student in Medieval European history since she was struggling and wanted some help in understanding the subject better. She did better after our study sessions. I learned that each student may require a different approach to best learn the subject. So I don't have any set style but rather one that changes to suit the student's needs.

My interests outside of academia range among several different things. I enjoy playing video games, card games, board games, and table-top role-playing games. I helped organize the game-playing club at my university for three years. I also enjoy reading a good book. I read all kinds of genres of books. I love traveling and do so whenever I can. I enjoy watching all kinds of movies with my family and friends.
