Certified Tutor

I have a BA in English from Portland State University as well as a MA in Creative writing from University of Iowa. I am a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, and I have taught writing, literature, and reading comprehension for nearly a decade. My experience ranges from teaching remedial English to high schoolers, to leading advanced poetry composition workshops for upper division English majors. I am able to assist students with all aspects of the writing process, from brainstorming ideas to putting the finishing touches on an essay.

I also assist students in reading comprehension and study skills. I help students set goals for themselves, and I coach them through the process of achieving those goals. Each student is unique, and I take a lot of pleasure in getting to know each and every one’s needs and quirks.
