LaTokey
Certified Tutor
I am a graduate of Northwestern State University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I attended Louisiana e. After obtaining my degrees, I worked as a disability examiner and a compliance specialist. After speaking with a friend who was an educator, I decided to return to school to teach. I began my career as a special education teacher. I obtained my special education certification for grades 1-12. Over the years, I have taught grades K-3 and 9th grade special education. I also spent one year teaching a math remediation course at the high school level. I have experience tutoring reading and mathematics at the elementary level as well.
As an educator, it is my duty to teach and inspire the youth of today. I whole-heartedly believe that learning is a life-long process. As I teach, I also learn. I learn different ways to provide instruction. I learn what appeals to the visual, tactile, and kinesthetic learner. I have been an educator for 7 years. I mostly work with children with learning disabilities. My goal is to make learning interesting and possible for all students.

What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe that everyone can learn. However, the trick is figuring out "how" each student learns.
