My appreciation and understanding of tutoring comes from my own confusion as a student. For the earlier part of my K-12 education, school was easy; tests and homework would be mere obstacles to my grade. As I got into progressively harder subjects, especially when entering high school, I had to change in mindset of what it even means to BE a student. Standardized tests, subjects that I just didn't get, and all these other educational obligations had me perplexed.
I was lucky enough to acquire a great tutor of my own who helped navigate through my studies. Test-taking strategies and deeper comprehension of certain topics was exactly what I needed to get through my classes and tests. Along with a great study plan, I hope to employ a similar type of experience for those who really want to accelerate their education.

Creating a comprehensive study plan based off of the student's weaknesses and strengths, focusing on working to understand difficult subjects.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Going over the subjects the student wants to focus on and creating a study plan with them.
