Certified Tutor
I graduated from Princeton University in 2015 with a BSE in Chemical and Biological Engineering and a certificate in German Language and Culture. I am currently working towards my MD/PhD degree at Michigan Medical School.
I have experience tutoring students of all ages, ranging from 1st grade to graduate school. I differentiate my tutoring strategies according to each individual's needs. My favorite subjects are math (from arithmetic to AP calculus), SAT test prep, chemistry, biology, reading, and writing.
I am very passionate about learning and enjoy tutoring because I know how it feels to be a busy student who needs some extra help. As a tutor, I am very patient and will work with you to develop the skills you need to problem-solve, whether you are trying to ace your midterm or get a personal best on the SAT. In my opinion, it's all about learning how to approach a problem and gain the confidence you need to succeed.
In my free time, I enjoy singing and playing trumpet and piano. I was a member of an all-female a cappella group at Princeton and I also played trumpet in the jazz band and pit orchestra. In high school, I played basketball, but after realizing I was too short to play seriously, I took up long-distance running as my new hobby. I look forward to working with you!

What is your teaching philosophy?
My philosophy is that, with the proper individual attention and positive attitude, any student can succeed. I can help the student master the techniques that sometimes fly by too quickly in the classroom.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
In a typical first session, I would try to get a good sense of a student's strengths and weaknesses, as well as his or her learning style. This information is very important for using the right strategies for that individual.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
It is often important to relate the material to problems in everyday life. When a student sees how the information can be useful, it is easier to keep motivation high. Also, I like to make tutoring sessions fun and interactive to engage the student.
