Johari
Certified Tutor
I've earned my bachelors of science in physics and humanities focused in theatre arts from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I've tutored middle schoolers and adults returning to college to finish their bachelor's degrees, and I've taught various hybrid technology-art camps and seminars for elementary through high schoolers. Predominantly, I tutor Algebra I-IV and Essay Writing/Editing, but also tutor Calc I, Trigonometry, Pre-Calc, and Pre-Algebra. I love to help people succeed, and that's what I focus on when tutoring. Together we will find the right pace for your sessions and I will help you better understand the material.
Outside of tutoring, I am an actor/composer/lyricist who loves to write new showtunes. Musical theatre is something I have grown to love, and the love, surprisingly, stems from my own devotion to cartoons and video games. But, make no mistake, while I can often be found watching an episode of Justice League, playing Smash, or giving the City of Angels score another listen, I will always put you first.

What is your teaching philosophy?
I like to work with my students at their pace. No one should ever feel ashamed if things feel as if they're going fast, and if things need to go faster then that is great, too.
