Certified Tutor

As an alumni student at the State University of New York at Cortland, I am expressing to you with great interest that I am excited to be working within the field that I have received a degree in. I have received my bachelors of science in childhood education this year, and I am currently working towards my certification in elementary education. Over the years I have acquired within my various educational experiences in schools and in classrooms a set of skills that has helped me gain a better understanding of the curriculum that is being taught throughout many schools in NYC, skills on how to address students' strengths and weaknesses in different subjects, and also various techniques that can be used within and beyond the classroom as well. My educational experiences include working in various schools within the NYC area as well as Upstate NY, private tutoring, tutoring as an independent contractor with a different company and working within various day cares. These varied experiences has also helped me develop a set of skills which includes classroom management, managing challenging behavior in an effective way, building a community by communicating with staff, students and families, conducting safe and fun activities, and also working well with others. I am really excited to be able to receive the opportunity to work with students in order to reflect on my skills as well as learn new skills from students as well.
