Following my career as a professional scientist, I have spent the past five years teaching students in both classroom and tutoring situations. In my role as tutor, my students enjoy the benefit that I can answer the question, "When will I use this material in the real world?" with compelling and interesting examples from my life, ranging from telescopes in space to programming graphics for video games. When tutoring, I adapt the instruction and explanation to best match my students' learning styles, interests, and conceptual difficulties.
