Kathy
Certified Tutor
I am a PhD student of Kansas State University. I received my Bachelor of Geography Education and English Literature in China. Since graduation, I have worked at Liuzhou Teachers' College for a while. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and that which enriches my life: dancing, running, baking and cooking.
For Tutoring Chinese (Mandarin): I design specific curriculum and syllabus for different language purposes on political, commercial, cultural, and historical needs. I am very good at using technology in my teaching methods, such as to mix online teaching with traditional ways of teaching so as to seek optimal teaching result. To ensure the targeted language levels, I obtained the Mandarin Chinese Language Proficiency Tester certificate in 2008. Then periodically administer check ups and testings by myself to get students' proficiency reports. I can adjust my teaching materials and methods to fit your language needs. I am looking forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve your goals.
For tutoring Geography: I enjoy helping students to create the self-confidence of study. I help them to build a unique way to learn Geography, to think spatially for every student on a purpose of understandable and efficient. I help students understand the key theories to help get the ideas to solve problems. I give practice only when needed. Sharing my knowledge with students to enhance their desire to learn is the key of my classes. In my experience helping struggling students prepare for Standardized Tests, we always seem to have the most fun (with remarkable advancements) prepping for the Critical Reading and Writing portions of the exams. I am a firm proponent of education and tutoring, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students.
