Certified Tutor

Teaching is my passion. I love to work with children on a concept and see the "light bulb moments" as they grasp it. I enjoy explaining an idea to a teenager or young adult and watching them grow in ability and confidence as they apply it. That is why I became a teacher. As a college student I served as a Phonics tutor, assisted third graders in learning new Math concepts, and helped fellow students with their essays. While student teaching I worked with Kindergarteners and fourth graders on Phonics, Reading, Math and English. I graduated from Harding University with a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education. Upon graduation I became a Kindergarten teacher in the Hazelwood School District, where I taught for two years. My favorite subjects to teach are Reading, History and Elementary Math. I believe that learning should be fun and engaging, that there is no such thing as a "cookie cutter" student, and that the more students understand who they are as learners the more successful they will be.
