My father worked for the State Department and my siblings and I grew up traveling to all Spanish speaking countries. The experience was incredible. I graduated from Nido de Aguilas International School in Santiago, Chile, and then from James Madison University with degrees in Spanish, French, and Secondary Education. Washington, DC is a perfect spot to attend fascinating lectures on culture worldwide.
I have taught all levels of Spanish in a classroom setting, and I have been tutoring English to native Spanish speakers, and Spanish to native English speakers, for decades. My strength is in assessing where a student is having difficulty and reteaching concepts not mastered, all while moving forward with the student's daily classroom instruction. My teaching style is positive, encouraging, and leads the student to discovering that learning Spanish is not only fun, but something that they want to do.
I love all kinds of sports. My greatest passions are biking, skiing, and anything outdoors.
