Certified Tutor

I am a Microbiologist at Washington University that studies the parasite that causes malaria. I have been mentoring, teaching and tutoring students at all levels from my time as an undergraduate at Brown University, through my graduate studies at MIT to my current research position now at Washington University. In college I tutored Biology, Chemistry and Organic Chemistry to fellow undergraduates. In graduate school I was a teaching assistant for undergraduate courses in Immunology and Genetics.The combination of my research experience along with my teaching experience means that I use the things I learned in Math, Chemistry and Biology on a daily basis.

My approach to tutoring and teaching is to focus on the concepts that are crucial for the students to understand the material. By concentrating on the important concepts as opposed to memorization, I have found that students in the long run perform much better on their exams.

My primary areas of experience are Chemistry through the college level and Biology at just about any level.
