Certified Tutor

After graduating from Mississippi State University with my Bachelor's in Communication, I realized that I wanted to be a teacher. So I returned to that same university to earn my teaching degree! Being a teacher has allowed me to do two of the things that I love: reading and writing. I believe that everyone should be given the tools that will help them to succeed in the world; and the ability to read critically and write effectively are some of the strongest ones. My teaching experiences in 6th, 5th, and 3rd grade, as well as my peer tutoring in college, have given me a range of strategies for helping students learn to be effective readers and writers. As a bookworm and writer myself, I strive to find the strategies that I myself use that will help everyone, even those who don't love reading or writing as much as I do, to be successful in these skills.
