I love learning and guiding others along the way to deeper understanding. Throughout my middle school and high school years, I assisted my younger brother with his homework, which gave me the opportunity to develop my skills in guiding others with their learning. While this may seem unremarkable, he has cerebral palsy, which means that I am also accustomed to working with those with special needs.
During college, I enjoyed volunteering as a Conversation Partner for English Language Institute learners. This gave me the opportunity to serve as an academic resource for these students, while also broadening my own cultural understandings.
Regardless of the student, I seek to identify their current understanding and build from wherever this may be. If a question is answered wrong, I work to understand the student's perspective to determine how to make any corrections and get back on the right track.
This fall I will complete a dual Master's in Public Health and Business Administration. The courses in these programs of study have provided me with a well-rounded academic background and the ability to strategically problem solve. I currently work at the National Institutes of Health as a Clinical Data Manager, which has strengthened my attention to detail and ability to work with all types of people.

I enjoy my daily bike commute to work, gardening, and trying out new vegetarian recipes. I love making cookies with my two wonderful stepchildren (7 & 9), and riding the Mount Vernon trail (with a stop in Alexandria for ice cream!) with my husband.
