Certified Tutor

I am a graduating senior at Howard University. I am studying English and Psychology in pursuit of becoming a Child Welfare Attorney and School Superintendent. While studying abroad in Spain for four months, I've travelled extensively around Europe and the northern tip of Africa. While in Spain, I was helpful in tutoring students ages 7-14 in English who are from other Spanish-speaking countries. I have also had experience in tutoring students in Mathematics. Although I am studying English, I have a newfound joy in teaching math, specifically Algebra. I love that math is very objective whereas there is only one answer although there are many ways to arrive at the answer.

I have learned that, while tutoring, it is extremely important to have fun with a subject area and to make the content relatable to the student. These practices help motivate students to want to continue to study in their spare time, therefore excelling.

Outside of tutoring, I love to play tennis and basketball, write, and spend time with family and friends.
