Tutoring review by Emily in Suwanee, GA
During our session, we covered the fundamental theorem of calculus parts 1 and 2. She had the most trouble with the graphical representations. She had a good attitude about the material, as she always does. We worked on memorizing some of the basic integrals. She has a few more homework problems left for practice.

Tutoring review by Hemerson in Suwanee, GA
We worked on total, probability formula, Bayes' Theorem, conditional probability, independence. The student was struggling with the definitions and applications of all these concepts. Her attitude was positive. She needs to practice from the book to get a good grasp of the concepts. By the end of the session she had a better understanding of them.

I had a fun tutoring session with the student today focusing on logarithms, a new subject, and complex numbers. Specifically we made great progress in multiplying complex numbers and understanding how to find roots given just one complex root. This involved long division again. We're still ahead of the power curve on topics. I really like to see my students looking ahead at the next material so they understand more in class.

Tutoring review by Haydan in Suwanee, GA
The student and I covered stoichiometry, especially with reaction chemistry. She understands the math really well. She had a great attitude the entire session, and I worked with her on how to double-check her math and set up solving the problems to minimize any simple mistakes. Most of the material we covered was worksheets from her class that she hadn't had a chance to go over yet. I'm confident that if she reviews the problems we covered and does a few more on her own, she will get a better handle on solving problems on her own. I think a big win from today's session is that she is able to apply the problems to what is going on in her lab.

We went through the first part of the calculus review packet, which covered interpreting rates of change from graphs and relating that to equations we get from calculus. We're going to meet again on Wednesday to continue in the packet, with the goal of finishing and feeling good about everything for next Thursday's test.

Tutoring review by Laura in Suwanee, GA
Today we did some serious factoring and solving of quadratic equations. He struggled the most today with the outrageously ugly numbers we had to deal with and he didn't like the idea that those were actually real solutions. I've seen it before. I told him that math helps us built up a tolerance for ugly numbers. To help he remember the quadratic formula I sang him the song. He said "it must be an East Coast thing." Ha ha. I hope it will help him remember it anyway!
