Surfside offers residents an array of programs and youth groups year-round. Manyof the town's programs are held at the Community Center. The center features a pool with lap lanes, a plunge pool with waterslide, a children's activity pool, two multipurpose rooms, locker rooms, a first aid station, a snack bar, and a large green lawn for parties and picnics. Residents can take part in the local swim team, youth soccer, Teen Scene, gymnastics, and swimming lessons. The Teen Scene program is offered on Tuesdays for ages 12 through 16, and participants are required to volunteer for at least two town events during the year. The first Friday of each month, the town hosts a community beach gathering; residents pack up picnics and head to the local beach to join friends and neighbors for a fun night of visiting and ocean views. The last Friday of the month, the town sponsors the Coffee with Cops program. The program offers free coffee for residents at a coffee shop and invites the community to visit with the local chief of police and police officers. This program allows the community to be well informed and on the same page as local law enforcement, assuring a safe community for everyone to live in.
