Certified Tutor

I hold a B.A. with high distinction in History (minor in English) from the University of Virginia and an M.A. in History from Rutgers University. As a college and university professor for the past 17 years, I have taught hundreds upon hundreds of students in a variety of settings physically in the classroom, hybrid, and online synchronous. In addition to having taught numerous United States, African American, Western, and World History courses, I have also taught College Composition and College Success. I also have previous tutoring experience, including adult literacy tutoring with Literacy Volunteers of America. I tutor a wide variety of subjects, including History, English, Reading, standardized test prep, and Student Success, but probably my favorite tasks as a tutor are helping students in History, English, and other humanities fields work on essays and other writing projects. I pursue creative writing in my spare time.
