Certified Tutor

I was born in Cuba and raised in a family of educators. My mother was a Biology teacher and my father was a Chemistry teacher. From an early age, I understood the joy and importance of knowledge, learning, and teaching.

I graduated from a specialized science and math high school and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Havana. While in Cuba, I worked as a research technician in immunology and plant science, gaining hands-on experience in biological research.

After moving to the US in 2002, I worked as a high school Biology teacher in Miami, FL, and Durham, NC. During this time, I completed my teaching certificates and taught Honors and AP Biology classes, enriching my teaching skills and student engagement techniques.

I then transitioned to a research technician role in neuropharmacology at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where I further honed my scientific and analytical skills.

Currently, I am applying for an online Master of Science program in Biochemistry, with the goal of teaching at a community college or an online university. I am passionate about Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Biology, and I enjoy sharing insights on efficient learning techniques.

Tutoring has always been a significant part of my life, from childhood to the present. I have consistently sought opportunities to tutor family members and friends in science and math, finding joy in helping others understand these subjects. These moments are unforgettable and reinforce my dedication to education and my love for teaching.
