I received my bachelor's degree in Huminites/English from Columbia College in MO. I retired after 25 years working as a Teaching Assistant in the Syracuse City School District. I have worked with all grade levels from PreK to 12. The last 7 years involved a lot of interventions in reading and writing. The last two years were in middle school as a reading specialist. In addition, I have worked with special education students in small groups and in the classroom modifying work, teaching study skills and note taking. During Covid I ran an afterschool book club virtually that was a lot of fun.
I really enjoy helping students become better readers and writers, it is a skill needed throughout life.
