I'm an economic adviser to a UK government department, applying economic concepts to policy issues daily. I have bachelor's and master's degrees in economics from the universities of Exeter and Nottingham, with a focus on development and policy evaluation.
My teaching experience is mostly informal, having mentored and coached colleagues in economic consulting. More recently, I have given structured training sessions on economic concepts to government staff. My teaching style encourages debate and exploring alternative perspectives. I highly value mutual development through learning opportunities, so I'm generous with my time to seek out the best things for each person.
Outside of work, I'm a cyclist and bread baker, making sourdough loaves and baguettes weekly. I'm currently learning to use programming tools (e.g. R) to automate processes and support the economic analysis I do at work. I also love getting stuck into maths problems!
