I recently graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with an M.S. in Physics. I have had experience in this field since I was a junior in high school, which has been 9 years in total. I also have a minor in mathematics, and have used math quite a bit throughout my time as a physics student. Therefore, I can tutor both physics (high school and college level) and mathematics (algebra, calculus). As most of my experience was as a student and researcher, I understand that physics and math can be very difficult subjects at times, and I believe I can help students through many of the topics using my experience. Additionally, I was a graduate teaching assistant during my first year of graduate school for a "General Physics for Students of the Life Sciences" course, so I do have experience helping students in this area. As a previous physics researcher, I will do my homework and prepare sessions based on where students need help the most. During a session, I will keep students engaged by asking questions, and I will make sure the student understands a topic before we move on. I think a key to helping students learn is patience, as learning takes time and cannot be rushed. I will be patient with students and will give my best effort to help them learn. My main outside interests are triathlon training, general exercise. and being outside. During my time as an undergraduate, I ran cross-country and track at the NCAA Division II level, so I can definitely relate to athletes who may be struggling with these subjects. I have a passion for health and wellness, so I definitely believe that there should be a balance between school and other areas of life. I am also continuing to take classes, but for a different field (sports science), starting with Anatomy and Physiology I this summer!

Undergraduate Degree: Lewis University - Bachelor of Science, Physics
Graduate Degree: University of North Carolina System Office - Master of Science, Physics
I have been a competitive triathlete and runner (cross-country/track) since I was in middle school. Along with that, I have always enjoyed using strength, core, and/or weight training to better improve athletic performance. During graduate school, I dealt with some injuries that have sidelined me. I am currently trying to come back from these injuries with more focus on health versus rushing back to competition. I have always had a passion for health and wellness, and in the future, I would like to help athletes, especially endurance athletes, prevent injuries from happening using more of a health-focused approach. In general, I just love to exercise and be outside, which I think helped keep me sane during my time as a physics graduate student. I also like to cook healthy food, and I do my best to support organic, regenerative farming practices.
