Certified Tutor
After receiving my Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Cincinnati, I worked for a short time in chemical industry. I worked at a small pharmaceutical company and also a large flavors and fragrance company. It didn't take me long to realize that I missed the personal connection with students. Building molecules is great, but building students is even better! I'm passionate about all forms of instruction, whether I'm teaching a class to a group of students or tutoring students one-on-one.
I have 17 years of teaching experience, and have taught: Introductory Organic Chemistry (two semesters), Advanced Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, and Flavor and Fragrance Chemistry to college students. More recently, I have taught Introductory General Chemistry.

Outside of Alma College, my wife and I live in Alma with our two children and two dogs . In my spare time, I love brewing beer, boating, camping, cooking, and most things that require me being active outdoors. For 10 years, my wife and I were the sole owners and operators of Entertainment Solutions of Michigan - a (primarily) wedding DJ service. We just retired that business in 2020. Although we specialized in weddings, we have done our fair share of high school proms, school dances, and college parties...
