Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Teesside University. I recieved my Bsc Hons 1st class in Biological Sciences specializing in Parasitology, and Virology. Since graduating I have gained experience teaching children from ages 12-16+ at a range of schools in low income areas with low achievement rates. During my time at those schools I also ran an after school Science club focused on bringing students ideas to life and entering these ideas into contests, as well as developing their passion for science.

While undertaking my PGCE I also assisted students from deprived backgrounds with improving their English, and reading skills up to the standard level for their age group. While I appreciate and have passion for all the sciences my main area of specialism is the Biological Sciences and especially anything falling under the umbrellas of human biology, and microbiology.

I have helped students of many different abilities in the past prepare for their A-levels, and GCSE's from top performing students to those who hated science, I believe every student is capable of achieving their goals with the right encouragement, and support.

In my spare time my main hobby is Aerial hoop also know as Lyra I love the freedom of being up in the air, and the fun of learning and mastering tricky new poses. I also love to read as I believe books are our greatest source of knowledge and entertainment.

I am currently studying to become an adult nurse as I love helping people of all ages live their best lives whether that's through education through their formative years or helping them regain their physical health. On my Nursing course I continue to broaden my Biological knowledge and I'm also learning how to use communication techniques to encourage and support people which I find helps me become a better tutor.
