Hello, I'm Alice! I tutor Spanish grammar and conversational Spanish for beginners and intermediate levels.

I studied Hispanic Studies at the University of Sheffield. This degree entailed history, literature and politics of the Hispanic countries. I also undertook Spanish grammar and conversational classes which boosted our language and fluency level over the 4 years.
I learnt Castilian (European Spanish) but also learnt Latin American idioms throughout the 4 years of studying.
During my studies I lived abroad in Madrid where I taught English as a teaching assistant in a school which I loved! The year living abroad made me feel comfortable and familiar with Spanish customs and cultures. The year gave me a lot of confidence when speaking with locals in the dialect and I left Madrid feeling more fluent than ever. I'm now studying a MA in Translation Studies to continue my development in Spanish.
As a tutor, I have taught many adult learners through friends and family as well as clients externally.

Before the first lesson we'll have a comfortable chat so I can get to know you and put together a lesson plan based on your goals. I'll then tailor the first lesson around the topics that you have requested.
I have a wide range of resources and books to help to plan each lesson. I normally prepare a slide show and presentation so we can both follow the lesson together where you can ask questions and make notes along the way.
To make the class more interactive, I have videos and podcasts to help with listening and comprehension which are fun and interesting! At the end of the session I'll send you the notes and materials that I've prepared so you can read in your own time and study at home.
