I will be graduating in 2022 with merit with a Master's in Politics and Public Policy from Cardiff University. Previously, I obtained my Bachelor's in Politics from Swansea University and before that I recieved my A-levels and GCSE's from Whitchurch High School in Cardiff.
Politics has remained my primary passion for many years now. What I believe makes it such an interesting area of study is that it is a living, breathing subject. The political landscape changes on a daily basis, with new examples of what you are studying appearing in the media frequently. Whilst this can make it quite challenging at times, it also makes it extremely engaging. It is also a subject of great variety, not only do you learn about political concepts, you see elements of other areas of study, such as History, Law and Economics.
Whilst Politics remains my primary subject of passion, it is closely followed closely by History. If not for Politics, it would have been my choice for university. Regardless, throughout my studies I took numerous historical modules as they often present with excellent examples of political processes. In fact, I would argue that the study of these two subjects are often intertwined.
My passion for teaching came from an unlikely source, the kitchens of a McDonald's restaurant. During high school and university, I worked part-time as a McDonald's crew trainer to support my studies. Teaching a variety of new employees in an often busy and high pressure environment enhanced my skills as a communicator immensely, as well as my confidence. This encouraged me to pursue other tutoring opportunities during university, in my final year of my bachelor's and my master's I would help first year's with their studies in one on one sessions. I would use the communication skills I developed in my part-time job to communicate complicated political theories to the students I was helping.
With Varsity, I am now looking to enhance these tutoring skills further and hope anyone reading this would allow me the opportunity to do so.

Politics remains one of my primary interests even outside of studying it. I am a close follower of specifically Welsh politics, and keep up to date with global events. Outside of this, I am interested in football and have been a Cardiff City season ticket holder for a number of years. This has often lead to moments of misery rather than enjoyment, but those rare moments of enjoyment are often some of my favourite memories. I also have an interest in travelling, and enjoy visiting a wide array of countries. This has led me to a variety of European countries, as well as countries further a field such as China, Egypt and more recently Colombia and Peru. For me, there is no better way to spend your time than experiencing different cultures and meeting new people. My other hobbies include reading, watching films at the cinema, hiking, walking and spending time with my friends and family.
