Certified Tutor

I am a creative designer, technology advocate, web developer and trainer. I founded 10th Planet in 1993 to pursue these interests and also became an early Apple Macintosh troubleshooter and digital workflow advisor to the creative industries alongside my growing range of creative work.

I specialise in graphic design, illustration, branding, packaging design, exhibitions, point-of-sale displays, retail interior design, artworking, photography, training, inspiration, website design, concept visualisation, HTML, CSS, WordPress theme development, UX design, team-leading, digital marketing and social media.

I have given workshops to audiences from primary schools to degree level and to industry clients on the value of creative thinking.

I also run specific, focused design seminars such as poster design masterclasses, web design tutorials, digital workflow transformation advice and how to avoid being slave to your computer.

I was instrumental in launching and running projects on the Creative and Media Diploma course at a local secondary school and I work as a mentor with Sheffield Hallam University providing support, inspiration and advice for design students to help them into industry and also partnered with and agency to place web design apprentices.

Inspiring creativity using technology is always a part of my teaching, whether at events, seminars or one-to-one sessions. If possible I like to spend time getting to know my students and looking through their work before tailoring a programme for improvement that's designed to work for them and the work they will be doing.
