I am passionate about people and helping them to reach their potential. I found that I could do this by through teaching Maths and helping students who though Maths was so difficult to find their own rhythm to tackle different Maths problems. I started tutoring students in GCSE and A Level Maths whilst volunteering for a youth charity called Pulse Community. I helped the young people who were having trouble learning and understanding Maths. From there I took on tutoring other students through the recommendations from my previous students.
I believe that every student has the ability within them to understand most mathematical concepts, it just depends on the care taken by the teacher to help them learn and understand. This is the philosophy I use while teaching. I take my time to understand how the student learns and how best to help them understand. Then I tailor the lesson to them to make sure they don't just memorise, but they also know why a certain conclusion was reached. Maths has so many different applications but because this isn't explained to students most of them see it as a nuisance, but I like to show the endless possibilities of any subject I teach and I believe this makes the student more receptive to learning the different concepts. If you don't know why you need to understand something, then you won't want to or try to.
Outside of academia, I am interested in Korean and Chinese culture, and I love watching Marvel.

I enjoy learning new languages and exploring different cultures because I feel like it opens me up to new ways of thinking. I’m currently learning Chinese and Korean. I enjoy listening to K-pop and watching Kdramas. I also volunteer with a local youth charity in my free time because I love to meet new people and encourage them to see new possibilities. I love scientific research and innovation particularly neuroscience, robotics, and AI. I am planning to set up an innovation lab that different people can use to work on their scientific ideas.
