Hi! My name is Anisha Kodwani, and I recently graduated from the University of Kansas last May with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and a minor in psychology. This July, I will begin dental school in Boston!
In college, I worked as a teaching assistant for Biology 150. I assisted the biology professor with all aspects of the Biology 150 course and utilized the professors content and oversight to review the material that was lectured over. During my assigned session times, I lectured over the week's material and answered questions. I also held weekly office hours in which students were able to get one-on one instruction of the material. Weekly meetings were held with the professor and fellow teaching assistants to discuss students' responses as well as preparing material for the following week.
I also worked as a tutor for the Academic Learning Center at KU where I was promoted to head biology tutor. For this, I would create lesson plans to lead small group tutoring sessions for a Biology course and customize tutoring and instructional approaches to meet the needs of each student. Through this, I have developed skills in training a variety of learning preferences and accommodating for students' entire set of needs and circumstances. Additionally, I am formally evaluated by these students at the end of each semester and have been receiving positive feedback.
The summer after college, I was studying for the Dental Admissions Test in which I received a 20 Academic Average. The subjects of this test are Organic Chemistry, Quantitative Reasoning, General Chemistry, Biology, and Reading Comprehension. While studying, I held a part time tutoring position at the Huntington Learning Center. I lead private tutoring sessions for students K-12 to help them receive proficiency in math, reading, vocabulary, and science and build upon essential learning skills. I also provide tutoring services for the ACT.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, traveling, hiking, playing tennis, and doing yoga. I have been a competitive tennis player my entire life and participate in tennis tournaments. Yoga is something I started more recently within the last few years and absolutely love it.
