Certified Tutor

I am a retired, highly effective STEM teacher with 20 years of experience teaching 6-12th grades. I have a B.S. and M.Ed. from Southeastern Louisiana University and have accrued hundreds of hours in additional training over my years in education. My training and experience in the NGSS curriculum, effective teaching strategies for STEM classes, test-taking strategies, and improved literacy in the subject area of science are a benefit to students facing the challenges in today's STEM classrooms. My teaching was consistently rated highly effective, and my students' achievements on state tests in science were at mastery and above.

For several years I have been providing tutoring for students taking end-of-course Biology tests and the ACT with positive outcomes for the students both academically and as a boost to their confidence. My favorite part of teaching was making connections with students through science and humor.

Helping students to achieve their best in science education has been my focus for the past twenty years. I'm privileged to have taught students at all levels over my career. Through these teaching experiences, I know that all students can succeed in science when given an opportunity.
